Dr. Amundsen
Dr. Dean Amundsen graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1984 and has been in private practice since 1985. He is a past president of the Tri-County Optometric Society and was a member of the Healthcare Delivery Systems Committee of the California Optometric Association (COA). He currently maintains membership in the COA and the American Optometric Association (AOA). He was co-chairman of the Quality Eye Care Alliance of Ventura County that aimed to increase the cooperative efforts between ophthalmologists and optometrists while improving clinical competency. He is the 1998 Recipient of the Apple of Excellence Award for Top Medical Professional in the city of Camarillo.
As an undergraduate, he was a member of three national championship swim teams and obtained All-American recognition. Dr. Amundsen graduated with high honors with a degree in biology from California State University Northridge.

Community Service
Dr. Amundsen and his staff have donated significant time to the community including a program to provide eye care to indigents at County Hospital, the Camarillo Health Care District, helping at his children’s schools and programs at Camarillo Community Church.
Personal Profile
Dr. Amundsen has four children: Jason, Sarah, Cory, and Parker. Sarah and Jason are grown, while Cory and Parker live with him and his wife, Debbie.
